A series of weekly sessions to connect residents with local health and social care services is taking place in Lanark this autumn.
South Lanarkshire University health and social care partnership (HSCP) has launched new initiative Space to Talk, allowing individuals to discuss their needs and concerns with representatives from social work and NHS Lanarkshire services including health improvement, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, podiatry and more.
The sessions take place at Lanark Lifestyles on Wednesday mornings and aim to “foster meaningful connections [and] create a welcoming environment”.
Maureen Dearie, who is the HSCP’s Clydesdale locality manager, said: “These events offer a flexible opportunity for residents to connect with the right people in a setting that is both informal and supportive; by bringing together a range of organisations and services, we are ensuring that local people have the support they need to manage their health and wellbeing effectively.”
Chief officer Professor Soumen Sengupta added: “At the heart of this initiative is our commitment to reducing health inequalities and promoting positive lifestyle changes across rural South Lanarkshire.
“Space to Talk exemplifies our vision of working with the community to provide accessible, practical support – it offers a unique opportunity for residents to engage directly with services that can make a real difference in their lives.”
