A book alleged to be the memoir of Kim Porter has sparked a stir online.
The compilation, which appears to be diary entries, was launched on Amazon this month under the title ‘Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey for Justice from the Other Side…‘. It became available for purchase just a week before her ex-partner, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, was arrested.
Diddy, 54, was taken into custody last week on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking and trafficking to engage in prostitution – all of which he has denied and pleaded not guilty to.
The rapper began a relationship with model and actress Porter in 1994, and they dated intermittently until 2007. After her death at only 47 years old, Diddy referred to her as ‘more than a soulmate’, having experienced many highs and lows during their time together.
Porter, who was born in Georgia, and Diddy had three children during their tumultuous relationship, Christian, now 26, and twins Jessie James and D’Lila, now 17. Diddy also played an active role in raising Quincy, now 33, Porter’s son from her previous relationship with singer-songwriter Al B. Sure!, reports the Mirror.
This month, a memoir reported to be Porter’s was published by LA-based publisher and producer Chris Todd, who uses the pseudonym Jamal T Millwood.
Todd claims to have obtained the book, made some minor edits, and then released it, according to MailOnline. However, Porter’s ex, Al B. Sure!, whose real name is Albert Joseph Brown III, is threatening to take legal action, alleging that the book’s contents are fabricated.
So, what exactly does the book claim about Diddy? Here are the most shocking allegations:
‘Orgies’ at Diddy’s home
The book claims that Porter attended “orgies” at Diddy’s home, which allegedly involved both male and female rappers and musicians.
An excerpt reads: “He hosted parties that were just a fancy name of orgies, and everyone wanted in. We not only had threesomes, but we also swapped partners. Our sex life was crazy, but I got to do things with Sean I would never have been able to do with a straight man.”
Abuse allegations
The book claims that Porter was abused by Diddy. In one section, allegedly written by Porter, she describes the first time Diddy allegedly hit her.
Diddy has not publicly commented on these allegations. In May, his former bodyguard claimed to Piers Morgan that he had witnessed the rapper being violent towards Porter.
“I’ve seen him [be violent] with Cassie and I’ve seen him with Kim Porter, his kid’s mother,” said Roger Bonds.
Sex tapes
Porter allegedly discovered and made copies of sex tapes featuring Diddy with other people, including one with a male pop star.
In threatening text in what is reported to be Porter’s last diary entry, she allegedly wrote about feeling unwell and texted friends saying ‘he got me’ – allegedly in reference to Diddy – before dialling 911.
Speculation around the memoir and its origins
Todd has claimed that Porter gave a thumb drive with her writings to her friends. This claim has been contested by Porter’s lifelong best friend, Eboni Elektra.
In July, Elektra took to social media to express her frustration, writing: “Now it’s getting out of hand. THERE IS NO BOOK! There never was. Several people continue to speak about and spread blatant lies regarding this ‘mystery manuscript’ as if it were true. People….. IT’S NOT.
“Kim would never do such a thing, and that’s the honest to God truth. God knows the truth and so does she. As for me, I couldn’t have another person call my phone or send me a text about this without clearing the air. Any negative feedback or comments on this post will receive no response except God bless you. The truth is the truth. Be blessed. #kimporterstrong.”
Following the publication of the book, Al B. Sure! has dismissed its contents on social media and called for legal action.
He stated on Instagram: “I am writing this post to formally request an investigation into an entire group of individuals who worked at or around the residence of Ms. Kimberly Porter including the publicists who assisted drafting this.”
In the same post, he also said that individuals in close contact with Kim “were also instructed to steal her computer and mobile devices, which contained her original book notes”.
Todd has opened up in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, claiming he cannot guarantee the book’s authenticity but “believes it to be true”. Additionally, Todd alleged that after reaching out to the representatives of celebrities mentioned in the book, he was either “ignored him” or bluntly told to “kick rocks”.
He shared with the magazine: “If somebody put my feet to the fire and they said, ‘Life or death, is that book real? ‘ I have to say I don’t know. But it’s real enough to me. Sometimes you have to just put it out there.
“Not all of the book may be accurate, but let’s say 80 per cent is. That should encourage those implicated to either confirm or refute the assertions, aiding me in my pursuit of the truth as an investigator.”
On a court-related note, on Tuesday, Diddy entered a not guilty plea to three felony charges at his preliminary court hearing before US Magistrate Judge Robyn Tarnofsky. Following the hearing, he was refused bail and informed that he would remain in detention.
Marc Agnifilo, representing Diddy, expressed determination outside the courtroom, insisting that he would “fight like hell” for his client’s release.
Diddy’s representatives have been contacted for comment.
