BECKLEY, W.Va. – The Department of Justice said an Oak Hill man has pled guilty to distribution of a quantity of methamphetamine. The announcement was made on Sept. 24.

According to statements made in court and court documents, on March 28, 2023, 39-year-old John Gray sold around 2 pounds of methamphetamine to a confidential informant in Oak Hill. The Department of Justice said Gray admitted to the sale and also admitted to selling around 848 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant on May 1, 2023.

Gray then admitted to selling 3 grams of fentanyl on May 3, 2024, and another 3 grams on May 6, the Department of Justice said. The Department of Justice said Gray admitted that he had been distributing approximately 3 grams of fentanyl three times a week from April 2023 until he was arrested in March 2024.

Gray is scheduled to be sentenced on January 24, 2025, where he faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a one million dollar fine.
