Outlander’s Richard Rankin, known for his role as Roger MacKenzie, is once again tickling fans’ funny bones with a behind-the-scenes glimpse from the set.

The second half of season seven of the popular Starz drama is eagerly anticipated by millions of fans worldwide.

The premiere in November will see Claire (played by Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) arriving in Scotland, with Roger travelling back in time to save his son.

As the countdown to the return of the fantasy saga continues, the show’s official Instagram page offered fans a sneak peek at the off-camera antics on set.

Social media users were amused to see Richard, dressed in full 18th-century attire, holding a decidedly modern takeaway coffee cup.

“Richard with the coffee is too funny,” one Outlander fan commented.

Another quipped: “Roger, contemplating the past with a nice pumpkin spice latte from Ye Olde Starbucks.”

“Roger brought his coffee back 200 years?” a third queried, adding a shocked face emoji.

Aside from this comical moment, fans were delighted to get a closer look at their favourite cast members ahead of the show’s return in November.

The photo collection also features Caitriona enjoying some downtime on location with John Bell, who plays Young Ian Murray.

David Berry, who stars as Lord John Grey, was also captured looking dashing in a long trench coat, being attended to by two crew members ensuring his costume was just right.

In another photo, Sophie Skelton is seen having a good time in the 1980s, laughing in her Brianna Fraser wardrobe despite the grim storyline that awaits in the second part of season seven.

Newcomer Charles Vandervaart also makes an appearance as William Ransom, Jamie’s secret illegitimate son who has played a crucial role in the current season.

Jamie himself is also pictured in yet another stylish 18th Century outfit, this time donning a dark black leather jacket possibly indicating a shift towards a darker tone.

This is just a sneak peek of what’s to come when the Fraser saga resumes in two months’ time.

Once the second half of season seven concludes, fans only have one more season of the main Outlander series to anticipate.

Fortunately, the narrative won’t end there as the origins of Jamie and Claire’s parents are set to be unveiled in a brand new prequel, Blood of My Blood, which will be released next year.

Outlander season 7, part 2 premieres Sunday, November 22 on Starz.
