Ricky Gervais has hit back at Scottish fans after they were left disappointed that his highly-anticipated comedy tour hadn’t been announced to include a date in Scotland.
The 63-year-old, known for his role in The Office, took to Twitter after some fans expressed their fury at there being no Scottish date added to the line-up for his Mortality stand-up gig.
He is set to perform to audiences throughout other parts of the UK, including Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle, however it appears Scotland has been snubbed from the tour entirely.
In a fiery social media post on the platform Ricky hit back and branded fans “thick t***s”. He wrote: “Once again, these are only the first few dates. The next daft c**t who says “Why no Scotland?” or any other f*****g country is blocked.”
He continued to his 15 million followers: “I’ll be announcing loads of other countries and cities over the next few months. Just wait, you thick t***s. Thanks for following.”
Thankfully, his response appeared to sit well with fans who were nothing but relieved to hear that a Scottish date is likely to be announced shortly. One said: “Thank you, Ricky. I can safely say on behalf of us all you have the most amazing way with words.”
Another chimed in saying “Good things come to those who wait,” whilst a third pointed out that “people are conditioned to have no patience these days,” as they inclined to agree with the comic.

One Scottish fan pleaded: “Ricky, recently the Isle of Wight ferry prices have become so high that you are one of the few comedians rich enough to travel here. Please come and see us. We will send an inflatable boat for you. They will probably let you drive the boat and take a funny photo.”
Announcing the news of his tour previously, he expressed: “These tickets go on sale Friday at 10am. There is no dynamic pricing. There are Platinum tickets, which are very expensive but I donate the extra profit to charity. They will sell out very fast because I am an absolute legend. Apologies in advance. Good Luck.”
The Mortality tour kicked off in October and will also include stops in Europe and North America. The show will be filmed for Netflix as a special.
