PRINCETON, W.Va. – West Virginia Living Magazine has named one local leader in the arts a West Virginia Wonder Woman.

The executive director for the Chuck Mathena Center, Candace Wilson was selected as a wonder woman for her work in uplifting the community. Wilson recently celebrated 10 years as executive director and says she is honored to be selected.

Wilson is also on the board of the Mercer County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and also helps with community events in the city of Princeton.

Wonder women are nominated by readers, former wonder women and businesses and organizations in the state.

“I am very honored and I’m proud of the work I do here and for our community. I think it’s a great place to work and live and I’m really happy to do anything I can to just make this community shine,” said Wilson. “So, just to be recognized for that is really something to be proud of.”

Wilson will be officially honored at West Virginia Living Magazine’s Wonder Woman Luncheon on Oct. 30.
