Coldplay fans were baffled as Ticketmaster’s website failed to display any presale information, just moments before the sale begun.
Advanced tickets for the band’s highly anticipated tour went on sale today at 9am, with general sale tickets set to be released at 10am tomorrow.
However, after logging onto Ticketmaster to buy the pre-sale tickets, fans were left panicked when the website only showed information for the general sale.
Many took to social media to complain and share their fears that they wouldn’t be able to snag the highly coveted tickets.
‘Anyone else having issues with the fact @TicketmasterUK hasn’t registered the fact the presale for Coldplay starts in 45 minutes??’ said midnightEm_.
‘@TicketmasterCS Coldplay presale link showing as general on sale tomorrow. Sort it out!’ said TheGeordieNeo.
‘I don’t know if it’s just me, but shouldn’t the presale link for @coldplay tickets be counting down for the presale today on @TicketmasterCS ? The presale starts at 9AM but the page the link takes you to just states General Onsale and is counting down to Friday,’ said wakeman_nick.
Despite a slightly bumpy start, it became apparent that the link only became live to the presale at 9am – when the sale begun.
At that point the link redirected fans looking to buy presale tickets to the presale rather than the general sale.
One fan shared an email from Ticketmaster that responded to their concern explaining: ‘You just need to wait until 9am BST when the presale link officially goes live. At that time, the link should redirect you appropriately to the presale instead of the general sale.’
When the presale did begin at 9am, fans found themselves facing a new set of problems as they discovered that there were tens of thousands of people ahead of them in the virtual queue.
’40k already queuing for coldplay and its only presale 😭,’ said sophhmel on X, with a screenshot revealing there were 40,901 people ahead of her in the queue.
‘Damn so glad I joined the queue and the presale early #Coldplay,’ joked _its_herrr who found there were 95,041 people ahead of them in the queue.
‘Maths isn’t my strong point but I’m not holding out massive hope for the Coldplay presale,’ said another fan with a screenshot showing there were 90,824 people in the queue ahead of her.
Wembley Stadium can seat up to 90,000 people and the band is set to perform there on six occasions during their August 2025 dates.
The Yellow hitmakers will perform in London’s Wembley Stadium on August 22, 23, 26, 27, 30 31. This means that potentially half a million fans might be able to attend the London shows -which should give fans in the incredibly long queue some hope!
The general sale will take place on Friday, September 27 at 9am BST.
