Coldplay devotees were left seething over ticket touts and Ticketmaster glitches when pre-sale tickets for their Music of the Spheres Tour 2025 were released.
The band has been touring since 2022, kicking off in South America. Earlier this year, they graced stages in the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Romania, Italy, Germany and more.
Their next batch of tour dates on sale are for Hull and Wembley Stadium in London.
As the clock struck 9am, pandemonium broke out as fans scrambled to secure pre-sale tickets ahead of the general sale tomorrow. Fans took to social media to air their grievances, with many puzzled about how they ended up so far back in a queue of over 150,000 people despite having waited since 6am.
Others were taken aback to see such a large queue for the supposedly exclusive ‘pre sale’ before the general sale had even commenced. One user vented: “It’s so f**ked up everything about this presale has been s***ty wtf.”, reports the Mirror.
“Ticketmaster really need to stop giving presale codes to everybody because why is there 90k people ahead of me for a coldplay show on a WEDNESDAY,” one fan ranted.
Others alleged they were unable to secure tickets due to a glitch with the sales website. They lamented: “@coldplay @TicketmasterUK absolutely devastated absolute joke.. been taken in circles, signed in several times, it constantly asks me to join the queue.. and then sign in another @TicketmasterUK f**k up! ! So so gutted.”
One disgruntled fan blasted the pre-sale process after problems with their Ticketmaster account, raging: “Coldplay pre-sale. WHAT A JOKE! ! I set up an account in Ticketmaster but now tells me I’m using the wrong email address. PATHETIC! ! ! ” Meanwhile, others expressed their dismay at scalpers hawking tickets at inflated prices on social media.
Another frustrated fan lamented: “I just don’t understand. I know 99% of them are scams but it’s so fucking unfair. I’m just a normal Coldplay fan with a code in at 9am, like I was told to and I’m 163,000th in the queue but yet there’s people already selling f**king tickets.”
And in an outcry over the anxiety-inducing situation, a tweet to @TicketmasterUK stated: “@TicketmasterUK will send the therapist bill because the anxiety you’re putting me through with these f**king presale is crazy.”
Fury spilled over onto Twitter where one user condemned those re-selling Coldplay tickets: “For all the people already selling Coldplay tickets, you are the scum of the earth and go f**k yourselves,” while another denounced ticket scalpers saying, “Everyone who bought Coldplay tickets for the sole purpose of selling them at 100x the price, hope yall rot in hell.”
As tickets for the London and Hull concerts appeared swiftly on StubHub at astronomical prices, fans voiced their displeasure. One buyer noted the lack of resale controls, exasperatedly commenting: “Open to all and very little sign of any attempted control on resale so no surprise really but disappointing as ever. Currently at 95k in the queue! ! ” Some Wembley tickets were listed at unsparing prices starting from £723, with others edging past £1,200.
