Coldplay fans have been left in a state of confusion after Ticketmaster’s website failed to display details for the band’s presale tickets. The presale tickets were scheduled to go on sale at 9am this morning (September 26), with general sale tickets set to be released at 10am tomorrow (September 27).
However, fans were left feeling “worried” as the Ticketmaster page only displayed details for the general sale tickets. One concerned fan took to Twitter to ask: “Can you tell me why the Ticketmaster website isn’t showing presale option when clicking on the presale code link? Assume it will be updated in time for the rush of tickets?”
Another fan echoed these sentiments, stating: “Same problem here.”
A third added: “I keep reloading but nothing happens I’m getting worried.”
Despite the panic, one fan offered reassurance, explaining that the page would update to show presale tickets at 9am, reports the Mirror.
They said: “They have confirmed that the link currently points to the general sale link, but at 9am that link being accessed will update to point towards presale.”
One fan shared an email from Ticketmaster which confirmed: “You just need to wait until 9am BST when the presale link officially goes live. At that time, the link should redirect you appropriately to the presale instead of the general sale.”
Despite this reassurance, many fans remained anxious.

Frustrations boiled over on social media as fans struggled with presale ticket access for Coldplay’s much-anticipated gig. One vexed fan posted: “Ticketmaster is ticketmastering again, where’s the presale for coldplay ? ? ? ? ” Another disappointedly remarked: “I’ve got a code but on Ticketmaster there’s only links to the general sale.”
A third expressed helplessness: “I have a pre sale code for hopefully trying to get @coldplay tickets this morning, when I go onto my ticketmaster there’s no presale happening just general sale.”
Coldplay fans who ordered the band’s latest album, Moon Music, from either the UK or EU stores before September 24 at 11.59pm were in for a treat with automatic presale qualification. Existing customers who purchased before the announcement were also included.
Those triumphant in the presale rush should have received an email by now brandishing a special code to unlock presale access on Ticketmaster. As per the Coldplay website: “You will be emailed with a link to the ticket provider and an early access code from 5pm BST on Wednesday, 25th September.”
While those possessing codes have an edge, tickets are doled out on a first-come-first-served basis; possession of a code doesn’t assure victory in the ticket wars.
A key reminder for aspirants: you MUST be signed into Ticketmaster using the same email that received the presale code to participate in the early draw.
Coldplay has revealed that half of the tickets for their Hull gigs will be reserved for local residents, with a presale for those living in postcodes starting with HU, YO, DN or LN kicking off at 6pm today (September 26).
Where do I enter my presale code?
Come 9am, the Ticketmaster site should refresh to display the presale tickets – this is when you’ll need to key in the presale code you should have received via email. To ensure a seamless process, it’s advised to log into Ticketmaster before the tickets are released, and keep your emails open with your presale code at the ready.
