Hugo Vickers, a Royal commentator, has indicated that trouble may be on the horizon for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s life stateside, claiming the couple “don’t have much to offer at this point”.
Speaking to The Sun, Mr Vickers highlighted the challenges faced by the Sussexes in a “high energy competitive world”, mentioning that while Meghan, aged 43, might be better versed in such an environment, it could be less familiar territory for 40-year-old Harry.
Notably, he stated: “Well I think there’s always been a certain number of cracks developing.”
Further elaborating on the situation, he said: “Obviously they had quite a good time at the beginning but the trouble is that it is this highly high-energy competitive world in which they now exist which is very very hard to deal with and I’m sure she’s had a certain amount of experience of this.”
“I’m not sure how much Prince Harry had of it. It does seem to be one thing after another, doesn’t it? There seem to be endless problems, little ones but they probably all add up to a big problem which is what is the sense of direction? How are they going to keep going? “, reports the Express.
“How are they going to finance their very expensive lifestyle? What can they contribute? What can they offer working outside the system? “.
He also mused about the potential role they could have played within the Commonwealth framework, saying: “Working inside the system we know exactly how they could have dealt with the various issues and what they could have offered within the Commonwealth is what I’m thinking of obviously.”
“I think it’s extremely difficult, I mean they rely very much on the fact, I mean they use their titles, Duke of Sussex, Duchess of Sussex, the fact he’s Prince Harry, that’s why we talk about him.”
“There are lots of Hollywood stars, people doing extraordinarily different projects and we don’t talk about them in the same sort of way.”
“I’ve always thought it would end badly. I don’t wish them ill, but I mean I just don’t see how it can work in the end because it’s all relying on celebrity culture and they’ve got to have a lot to offer and I don’t see what else they’ve got to offer at this point which is going to be new and stimulating and valuable for other people.”
Mr Vickers’ comments come as Prince Harry tries to continue to build his life in the USA with Meghan, who has recently been praised by her staff members.
Hours after The Hollywood Reporter published a piece alleging Meghan Markle‘s “terrible” behaviour is the cause of the high turnover rate at the company she runs with her husband, Prince Harry, a current employee posted a note on Instagram passionately debunking the report.
According to US magazine, The staffer said the allegations made in the article are wildly inaccurate and damaging to both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and members of their team.
Current and former aides were quick to fill the comments section with messages of support. A current team member posted, “Best bosses I have ever had,” while a former staffer shared that working with the Sussexes was “truly an honor.”
