MOUNT PLEASANT, Pa. (KDKA) – Police in Pennsylvania say a dog stolen from an 87-year-old Pittsburgh-area man has been spotted on surveillance footage with the suspect.

Willard Martz went to the Mount Pleasant Tractor Supply Store to buy food for Lucky, his 10-year-old Airedale terrier mix.

Lucky means everything to Martz.

State police are actively investigating and following several leads in the search for Lucky.

The Marine veteran who served for over 20 years gets emotional wondering what has become of Lucky.

“Take him someplace where he can be found, turn him into anything,” Martz pleaded. “I want him back.”

One local woman wearing a University of Pittsburgh Medical Center name tag said she was spending her lunch break searching for Lucky.

“I’m so sad about this,” the nurse said.

Martz sat with his daughter Linda Folino watching TV, as they usually would, but this time was without Lucky between them.

They say they received several tips on Lucky sightings, and want everyone to know he’ll be easy to spot.

His black collar and flea collar are tied together with a zip tie.

Martz is offering a $500 reward for his return to anyone, and they mean anyone!

“At this point, give the dog back and I’ll get you the $500,” Folino said.

State police are actively investigating and following several leads. Authorities released a picture of the stolen car with license plate KVR-6440.

Closed-circuit cameras are also being reviewed.

Martz didn’t get a good look at his attacker but thought he was a middle-aged male with shaggy hair.

Catching the attacker is a low priority, Martz says he just wants Lucky to be alive and OK.

“I’m worried about the dog. Cars can be replaced. Years ago, I had to put a dog down and it hurts,” Martz said.
