A second teenager has died following a devastating car crash on Long Island last weekend.

Bella Trezza, 17, succumbed to her injuries at Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, her high school announced Thursday morning.

Trezza was the third person to die in the crash, alongside her friend, 18-year-old Riley Goot, and another man, Michael Desmond.

“It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved senior, Bella Trezza,” read a Facebook post from St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School. “The SJB Community remembers Bella as a bright ray of sunshine, and continues to pray for her brother, Austin, Bella’s family, and all those affected by the accident through this difficult time.”

Trezza was driving her brother and three friends home from a party around 1 a.m. on Sept. 21 in West Babylon when Desmond, driving a 2017 Kia sedan, ran a red light and struck the teenagers’ 2025 Kia SUV at full speed, according to police.

Desmond, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene. Groot was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Austin and Bella Trezza, along with Jack Murphy, 18, and Anthony Pagliuca, 16, were rushed to area hospitals.

Bella was on life support “after suffering severe brain trauma,” according to a GoFundMe for her family. “She has lost her spleen, a tremendous amount of blood, and has more broken bones than the doctors wanted to count. The outlook for survival for Bella is not bright.”

Austin Trezza, 18, was in stable condition but staring down multiple future surgeries, according to the GoFundMe. A 2024 graduate of West Babylon High School, he was also a member of the town’s volunteer fire department.
