Ozzy Osbourne is preparing to return to the stage for the first time in over a year, despite struggling with mobility issues that make it difficult for him to walk or stand for extended periods.
The legendary rocker, 75, confirmed he will perform during his induction into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next month in Cleveland, USA.
Ozzy, who has been dealing with neck, back, and leg problems since a fall in 2019, is determined not to let his physical challenges stop him from attending the event.
Sources close to the Black Sabbath frontman say he has informed his band that he will travel from his home in Los Angeles to be part of the celebration, reports the Mirror.
Ozzy announced his appearance on his Sirius radio channel but remained tight-lipped about the specifics, saying: “I am going to have to go there. The thing is, I can’t talk about it now.” This will be Ozzy’s second Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honor, following his 2006 induction with Black Sabbath.
Grateful for the recognition, Ozzy acknowledged that it “was special” to receive such an honor. It’s expected that several metal icons will join the festivities to celebrate with him.
The Birmingham-born rocker, who now resides in the US with his wife Sharon, 71, hopes to have the support of Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash at the event. “He is a really nice fella,” Ozzy said. “He speaks to me a lot.”
