Quality Street fans had extra reason to celebrate last Christmas, when it was announced that the Coffee Creme was making a comeback.
After a 20-year hiatus, the beloved flavour became available once more in Quality Street’s festive cracker (£6) and advent calendar (£10) – both available at Waitrose and John Lewis.
And now, the beloved sweet, which was part of the original selection tin in 1936, is back for a second year.
But, once again, shoppers won’t find the sweet in their usual tubs.
Instead, the coffee-flavour fondant wrapped in dark chocolate will join the 11 other Quality Street sweets at pick-and-mix stations across selected John Lewis stores in the UK, where shoppers can fill up their own tubs.
A limited-edition Coffee Creme cracker (£5.50) and bauble (£7) will also be available.
That means that while there are still ways for you to get your hands on a Coffee Creme, the tubs you find on the shelves of popular supermarkets including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Asda, won’t include them.
However, the pick-and-mix station was launched yesterday (September 25) at John Lewis’ flagship store in Oxford Street, which means you can already get your hands on them – 12 weeks ahead of Christmas.
And, other participating stores will be following in October.
If you do also want to pick up a tin, there’s a new design, inspired by its Halifax heritage, where the sweets are still manufactured today.
