The Pastoral Committee and friends of Croftfoot Parish Church held a coffee corning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event which took place on Saturday, September 18 at the church in Croftpark Avenue, raised in excess of £1400 for the charity.

Martha Williams, who leads the committee, said: “We’d like to thank everyone who participated and donated on the day.

“This is the third year we’ve held a MacMillan Coffee Morning and we’re going to keep doing it.

“We have people in the congregation who are affected by cancer. I think everyone in the community and the country knows someone who has had cancer.

“One of our members used to host the coffee morning in her flat but it’s outgrown that now and we held it in the church hall.”

As well as raising money on the day the committee had also set up a Just Giving page for donations.
