On Wednesday Janey, 63, gave a heartbreaking update to fans as she revealed that she was now receiving palliative care.
The announcement came soon after she cancelled her autumn tour Why Is She Still Here? revealing to fans that her cancer had metastasised (spread to different parts of her body).
The star revealed in an incredibly sad video: ‘It is devastating news to know that I’m facing the end of life but we all come to an end sometime.
‘I don’t know how long I’ve got left before anybody asks. I’m not a tick tock so I just want you all to know that I appreciate all the love you’ve given me,’ she continued.
She thanked fans for caring for her family, and many now want to know more about Janey’s husband and whether they have any children.
Who is Janey Godley’s husband?
Janey has been married to her husband Sean Storrie since 1980 when she was 19.
In 2023, the comic reminisced on the day that he got down on one knee and revealed on X that they got engaged in 1979 when he was just 16.
‘On this day in 1979 I got engaged to a 16yr old lad, behind his dads pub sitting on beer barrels he gave me a diamond ring. Married now for 43 years … not been easy, but here we are .. happy anniversary Mr Storrie.’
Janey has concealed her husband’s identity over the years and blurred out images of his face when sharing images of themselves together.

Janey and Sean have a daughter named Ashley Storrie who followed in her mother’s footsteps to become a stand-up comedian and BBC Radio Scotland host.
Speaking about her mother’s health on social media, Ashley shared a video that detailing that she would keep working as her mother begins palliative care.
‘It’s really sad, I’m gonna keep living my life and keep working because that’s what my mum asked me to do. So that’s what I’m gonna do.
‘Because I want to show her before she leaves I’m gonna be OK because I know that’s the thing that she’s worried about the most.
‘I won’t be sitting a vigil by her bedside crying, because she doesn’t want me to. and I’m going to respect her wishes. I love my mum,’ she said in a tearful video on social media.
Janey recently released a book. The book was a memoir titled Janey: The Woman That Won’t Shut Up, which the author said was dedicated to her daughter.
‘That was the intention. It was a love letter to my daughter, to tell her it might not be the longest life, but we’ve had a great time together,’ the Irish News quoted her.
Janey will leave behind a legacy after working as a co-presenter on BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends, as well as fronting BBC Radio 4 series The C Bomb.
In 2023 the comedian won the inaugural Sir Billy Connolly Spirit of Glasgow Award at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival.
