The question of who will headline Glastonbury 2025 has been bubbling ever since Worthy Farm emptied in June.
It seems one name has cropped up time and time again— X Factor and One Direction legend Harry Styles.
The star has moved a little beyond his ITV talent show origins with a sold-out world tour and numerous hit songs.
Now he’s the favourite to take a headline slot at Glastonbury as his popularity continues to grow and bookies slash odds.
Huge names have been in the running for the coveted show after Oasis confirmed they would not be performing at the historic festival.
Harry, 30, is 1-2 odds on to perform — down from 5-2 — according to Coral Bookmakers.
Coral’s John Hill explained: ‘Harry Styles is proving very popular in our betting to be one of the headline acts at Glastonbury in 2025. It might be a sign of the times that the former One Direction star is set for a big appearance at Worthy Farm next summer.’
This came after sources reported he had already been approached to take to the Pyramid Stage.
Festival organiser Emily Eavis is said to have called him Glastonbury’s dream booking.
Speaking to The Sun, a source said: ‘Harry would be the perfect Glastonbury headliner and Emily has long wanted him on stage at Worthy Farm, but the dates have never quite worked out.’
The former One Direction star hasn’t performed in the UK since his surprise appearance during Stevie Nicks’ BST Hyde Park set in July and has no current tour plans but is believed to have been working on his fourth studio album in recent months.
Glastonbury’s headliner choices last year of Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and SZA were met with mixed responses so the pressure is on this year.
Harry isn’t the only male solo artist who bookies have their eye on as Ed Sheeran sits at 1-4 while Eminem is at 5-2.
Also in the running for soloists is Adele, who previously headlined in 2016, with 1-3 odds alongside newcomer Olivia Rodrigo (6-4).
Icon Cher has also been mentioned by unnamed sources, after reportedly entering ‘meaningful talks’ although it’s likely she would take the legends slot.
Madonna is of course always a popular name thrown about, with rumours she will be performing cropping up like clockwork every year — currently at 5-4 odds.
As for that all-important band slot, Green Day are the favourites at 1-2 while Foo Fighters cling to 2-1 odds even after the Dave Grohl drama earlier this month.
John called Green Day ‘the big movers in Glastonbury 2025 betting,’ as the bookie added: ‘The American band are now odds-on to have the time of their lives at the festival next summer.’
The group have never actually played at Worthy Farm but after celebrating the 20th anniversary of American Idiot, it’s looking rather likely.
Wishful thinking also has Spice Girls rumours picking up once again, although we’re not sure how hopeful fans should be for this one.
