Raleigh County storm damage update

RALEIGH COUNTY, W.Va. – Some roads in Raleigh County are still closed due to storm damage from Hurricane Helene.

According to a press release for the Beckley-Raleigh County Emergency Services, the Raleigh County Emergency Management is working with local law enforcement, fire departments, Beckley street department, and Department of Highways to manage hazardous roadways.

Fire departments and crews from the Department of Highway have been working for hours to clean debris from the roadway.

The press release also states the Raleigh County 911 Center has processed over 100 calls for service related to the storm. As of now there are over 70 reports of “tree down” calls in the county.

Earlier today there were 114 power outage cases resulting in 9,757 residents without power in Raleigh County.

The Raleigh County Emergency Services encourages people to report any emergency to the 911 center.

Springdale & Rhodes, Beckley

E Prince St, Beckley

Nebraska Ave & Craig St, Beckley

Hot Coal Road
