Austin-Travis County EMS confirmed that an adult was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

AUSTIN, Texas — One person has been taken to the hospital after a shooting at an H-E-B in northeast Austin Friday.

According to the Austin Police Department, the shooting happened at the H-E-B on West Canyon Ridge Drive, near I-35 and East Parmer Lane just before 4 p.m.

Austin-Travis County EMS confirmed the shooting and that an adult was taken to the hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, police said the person who shot the firearm stayed at the scene.

Austin police said there is no threat to the public and that this was not an active shooter incident.
