Celebrity chef Tom Kerridge has shared a tantalisingly simple dish he treasures following an impressive 12-stone weight loss. The renowned culinary figure disclosed his home-cooking preferences on Joe Marler’s Things People Do podcast, admitting that despite the complexities of restaurant cuisine, he enjoys straightforward fare at home.

Tom opened up about his kitchen ritual stating: “I turn the oven on and stuff. I won’t put something in the microwave and just press go, but I will cook stuff. Yeah, I will cook stuff.”

His go-to meal is a humble yet satisfying combo. He added: “Like, I’ll quite happily do it, but it will…it could be baked potato with like baked beans and grated cheese on the top. Like, we’re quite happy with like a standard, but it is yeah…I’ll cook at home.

“If I’m there, I’ll do the cooking. I can’t sit there and watch somebody else do it.”, reports Gloucestershire Live.

Kerridge highlighted his kitchen efficiency and prowess by adding: “I find it easier to just do it, it gets done quicker and it gets done better. But that’s the only thing that I’m quicker and better off at home. Nothing else, just that bit.”

Reflecting on his 24-year marriage, Tom illustrated their domestic understanding: “We’ve been married 24 years now so it’s to the point where she’s just like ‘yeah, you do that, I’ll do the rest of it’. Like, she’s quit happy to let me cook.”

Kerridge has, in past discussions, unravelled the secret behind his remarkable 12 stone weight loss, which has undoubtedly influenced his current lifestyle and food choices.

Celebrity chef Tom Kerridge has made headlines with his unique take on the classic baked potato. After giving up alcohol and cutting down on carbs, he embraced the “dopamine diet” which is all about foods that boost dopamine production.

Earlier this year, he introduced an upscale version of the baked potato at his Buckinghamshire pub, as reported by the Manchester Evening News. The Baked Potato “Raclette” with Sauce Reform, priced at £19.50 at The Coach in Marlow, has drawn both admiration and criticism for its extravagant twist on a simple dish.

Unlike the more traditional baked bean topping, this potato is lavishly filled and crowned with ham and cheese.

Kerridge proudly presented his creation on Instagram, calling it “a work of art”, and shared a video that showcased the potato being gently torched to perfection.

The Instagram post boasted: “Have you tried @thecoachmarlow’s famous Baked Potato? This month’s features Raclette with Sauce Reform, and let me tell you, it is a work of art”.

However, not everyone was impressed with the gourmet potato’s price tag. Instagram user @tomcat2183 commented: “£19.50 for that you are taking the p*** mate,” while chriskelly58 remarked: “For £20 it should be … fancy spud u like.”

This culinary controversy follows Kerridge’s previous revelations about his favourite simple two-ingredient snack.
