Uggs were a must-have in many autumn/winter collections last year, and their resurgence is largely thanks to the ‘y2k’ fashion trend that’s gripping the nation.
However, the genuine articles can be quite pricey, with the Tasman style retailing at around £100, and other designs, such as the Ugg Ultra Minis, fetching even higher prices like £145.
As a result of these steep prices, shoppers are scouring the internet for more affordable alternatives, although some knock-offs can look noticeably inauthentic when you look closely at them. Yet, the dupes discovered by @laurenkaysims on Amazon have been met with great enthusiasm and she admitted she wears them way more than her genuine ones.
Lauren shared: “Honestly, I find myself reaching for the Amazon version WAY more often”. She was keen to “compare them to the real thing” since they were “under $50 (£37) and she understands that not everybody wants to fork out a huge £100 for shoes.”
“They look, as you can see, nearly identical”, she excitedly claimed, while presenting both pairs together. Naturally, the authentic Uggs are made from sheepskin and feature the distinctive Ugg logo.
Lauren noted that the Amazon versions “are not quite as stiff” compared to the original Uggs, which she finds “not quite as easy to get on and off”.
She also mentioned that the Amazon ones “fit more ‘true’ to size” unlike the Uggs, which typically advise buyers to go one size up. Lauren expressed her admiration for the Amazon dupes, endorsing them as a solid choice for those who don’t wish to spend more than $100.
Amazon is offering Ugg lookalikes for £17.99 in 17 different colours, some of which are very similar to the authentic Uggs. However, they are made from faux suede, not the real thing.
