A motorcyclist has died following a horror crash on the M74 last night.

Emergency services raced to junction 13, Abington at around 6.40pm on Friday, September 27 following reports of an accident involving a black Harley Davidson motorcycle and a blue Ford Focus car.

The 45-year-old man, the rider of the motorcycle, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car did not require medical treatment.

Police Scotland Sergeant Andrew Coutts said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died. Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.

“We also ask anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area at the time to come forward.”
