Cord trousers are making a comeback for autumn, and one £39.50 pair from Marks and Spencer are currently proven to be a rather hot buy among shoppers.

Known for their retro vibes and comfy aesthetic, cords are a must-have for your cold weather wardrobe. Which is why it is no surprise that the retailer’s Cord Wide Leg Trousers are a “bestseller” and “in demand” online right now.

Crafted from a cotton-rich material, fashion fans are loving the vintage-style that is giving them “70s vibes”. They also feature added stretch that make them comfortable to wear without being restricting.

The high waist design combined with the wide-leg style make these trousers both “on trend” and “flattering”, according to reviews. Classic belt loops and a five pocket design complete the look.

Available in sizes UK eight through to 22, these trousers are beginning to be snapped up quite quickly. They do come in five autumnal hues – navy, black, bitter chocolate, copper tan and dark claret – although, some are selling out.

One delighted shopper praised: “Great cords, bit retro. I think I will wear these a lot.”

A second five-star review read: “Staple piece for autumn wardrobe. Really nice soft material. Good fit. Look stylish and colour is on trend for Autumn. Looking forward to wearing them. For a casual autumn look paired with cardigan or tank top.”

Another positive review read: “Perfect cut, colour and price! Very on trend style without the designer price tag. Bought the copper shade. Suggested to my mother who bought every colour and loves them too. Great with trainers or cowboy boots.”

Someone else penned: “Fantastic !! I bought the navy (classic staple) and the copper tan (rust revelation. Lovely autumnal hue) and thrilled with both. 10L fitted well and flattering. Soft light cord. Much better quality than straight leg versions I’ve bought in the past. As good in quality of some I’ve bought for triple the price so super pleased.”

One shopper who was less keen on the design did write: “Ordered both black and blue trousers in this style but only kept the black pair as the blue cord material felt limp and shapeless – not a good look for me.”
