BBC Strictly Come Dancing viewers reckon Toyah Wilcox might be the next to pack her bags after they noticed “tension” between her and Neil Jones.
Despite being tipped by bookies as the next to leave, the judges praised Toyah for a significant improvement from last week. Anton du Beke kicked off the feedback, saying: “That move at the beginning reminded me of Blackpool last year when Craig was crawling across a bar.”
“This was a thousand times better than last week. More of that please.”
However, Craig Revel Horwood disagreed, stating: “]Well it wasn’t a thousand times, that’s a slight exaggeration.”
He pointed out: “It was flat-footed,” but complimented: “I loved your energy.”
Shirley Ballas chimed in: “Give her a little cuddle from me because that was much better than last week. Last week to this week, definitely better marks,” reports the Daily Mirror.
“I’m going to call you my rock chick because I lived in Texas for five years, and when I hear that music, I just go back there, I can see all those people doing the line dances and doing the different types of Jives. You had windmills in there, a windmill. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a windmill on Strictly.”
However, fans are speculating that Toyah and Neil could be in danger of elimination due to their partnership. One viewer tweeted: “I’m sensing tension with Toyah & Neil. #Strictly.”
Another responded: “Me too! At the beginning, on the stairs, he was proper looking at her and she totally blanked him.” (sic).
A third commented: “There’s something about Toyah and Neil together which just doesn’t work. Shame. I like her but she’s not coming across that great. #Strictly.”
Yet another fan remarked: “It’s all about Neil in the partnership with Toyah I’m so annoyed. Others play to their partners’ strengths #Strictly.”
One viewer, expecting Toyah’s departure, stated: “Might as well say goodbye to Toyah tonight, there’s no way she’s not going tomorrow #Strictly.”
However, opinions varied as one admirer expressed: “Don’t understand people’s hate for Toyah and Neil. Love them. Toyah has greatly improved this week”.
An enthusiast echoed positive sentiments: “Toyah and Neil’s Jive was just a bundle of fun tonight. Who could not enjoy the Tina Turner classic music too. Toyah is looking good and full of energy. Fingers crossed for tonight,”.
Sunday night will witness the first elimination of the series where one couple will have to leave the competition.
The two stars with the fewest votes will face the dance-off, and according to odds-makers, Toyah is in jeopardy of exiting.
Betway spokesperson Chad Yeomans shared with Express.co.uk: “After Toyah Wilcox scored just 12 points on Strictly’s opening night, she’s now the 7/4 favourite to leave the competition first.
“Following closely behind, former footballer Paul Merson is 3/1, and TV presenter Nick Knowles is 5/1, which means both men are at risk this weekend of being booted from the ballroom!”
He continued: “Meanwhile, comedian Chris McCausland is stealing the spotlight, with his odds to win the show slashed from 10/1 to 7/2, making him the joint-favourite alongside Tasha Ghouri.
“Chris dazzled the audience with his first performance, and his natural charm and wit have vaulted him into serious contention for the Glitterball trophy.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns on Sunday on BBC One.
