He’s done it again – Chris McCausland has left Strictly Come Dancing viewers in stitches with another dicey joke.
The Liverpudlian comedian, 47, has already won the hearts of the nation this series thanks to his endearing partnership with Dianne Buswell, 35.
His gags have also left his co-stars in hysterics, right from launch night when he made a jibe at Punam Krishan with his disbelief at ‘getting in the same room as a GP.’
Keeping the laughs rolling in, week 2 saw Chris take aim at judge Craig Revel Horwood, who started the show in classic style, dishing out brutal criticism.
Chris, who makes history as Strictly’s first-ever blind contestant, was asked by host Claudia Winkleman how he felt about his upcoming foxtrot.

Before he answered, though, Chris showed solidarity with his fellow celebrities who had been on the receiving end of Craig’s harsh feedback.
‘Chris, last week you said the cha cha was like terms and conditions. How have you found the foxtrot?’, Claudia asked.
The funnyman replied: ‘First of all, by the sound of how things are going, I think Craig is blinder than I am.’
Chris’s gag made the audience erupt into fits of laughter, with co-presenter Claudia putting her head into her hands and saying: ‘Give me a minute.’
At the age of 22, Chris lost his sight due to a hereditary condition called retinitis pigmentosa, having previously said he ‘didn’t even really notice it happening’ due to gradually going blind since birth.
He continuously uses his sight loss in his stand-up routines, quipping on the first show: ‘I may as well get the jokes out now, I’m only here for three weeks.’
But that wasn’t the only time Chris went for Craig tonight, oh no, as he proceeded to mock the show’s resident Mr Nasty’s low scores.
While presenter Tess Daly was introducing him, she tried her hand at a knock-knock joke and got Craig involved in the punchline before asking Chris what he thought.
After scoring Tess a seven, Chris blasted: ‘Craig, mate, I’ll give you a two. No technique and your legs aren’t straight.’
Taking to X to show their support for Chris, Strictly fans declared his dig at Craig ‘the best put-down’.
‘Ladies and Gentlemen, Chris Mcausland is carrying this series on his back’, wrote kirv96.
MiteshSoni_1 agreed: ‘Chris McCausland is the best thing to happen to #Strictly.’
‘GIVE CHRIS THE GLITTERBALL IMMEDIATELY’, stated ShirleighShirlz.
SCDJOWITA added: ‘thank god for chris man, i am howling every week’.
For their second performance, Chris and Dianne danced an elegant routine to Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy by The Tams, which earned them a roaring standing ovation.
After joining in the rapturous applause, head judge Shirley praised Craig as ‘an example to every celebrity upstairs when it comes to footwork’.
Fellow panellist Motsi said the slow foxtrot is one of the most difficult dances, but she felt he made it look ‘so easy,’ while Anton said: ‘You are just wonderful.’
Chris then continued his feud with Craig, joking that he had to think of an original comment that was not about his frame, to which the judge countered by critiquing his finger positioning, but said he ‘loved’ his spirit in the dance and musicality.
Craig scored the foxtrot a six, Motsi Mabuse gave them seven, while Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke gave them a very exciting eight, bringing their total to 29 out of 40.
Viewers were left majorly impressed once again, praising Dianne’s ‘phenomenal’ teaching and declaring their pairing ‘amazing’.
Chris’s week 2 score will be combined with his week 1 total of 23 following their energetic dance to Twist and Shout by The Beatles.
Elsewhere tonight, Tasha Ghouri delivered what Craig hailed as ‘the dance of the night’ with her Viennese Waltz.
She earned nines from the panel, reducing her to tears after emotional rehearsals with Aljaž Škorjanec.
Nick Knowles also returned to the dancefloor after an arm injury put a question mark on his Strictly future just hours after his first dance.
Thankfully, his sling is now gone, and he was praised for adapting his routine with Luba Mushtuk, which was pulled together in just 16 hours.
Shayne Ward was branded ‘the one to watch’ by Chris, Toyah Willcox made an ‘improvement’ from her 12-point tango last weekend, and Jamie Borthwick was defended by fans after dancing a rumba, a notoriously difficult style.
Tomorrow night, the first couple will be eliminated from Strictly 2024 as the public vote opens before two battle for survival in the dreaded dance-off.
