A woman was rushed to hospital after being hit by car in Inverness yesterday.
Police were called to Thornbush Road shortly after 5.20pm on Friday, September 27 after reports of a serious collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
A 71-year-old female pedestrian was reportedly struck by red Mazda 3 car. She suffered serious injuries and was taken for treatment at Raigmore Hospital. No one from the Mazda was injured.
The 18-year-old male driver of the car has now been arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and enquiries are ongoing.
Sergeant Calum MacAulay, of the Highland & Islands Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances which led to this collision.
“We would be particularly keen to speak to a potential witness who was the driver of an unidentified silver or grey saloon style car which passed shortly before the incident happened, or to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 2694 of 27 September, 2024.”
