Alexandra Burke accepted boyfriend Darren Randolph’s proposal as he asked her to be his wife. The 36-year-old X Factor winner has been in a relationship with 37-year-old goalkeeper Darren since April 2021.
The pair have two children together, having welcomed their first child in June 2022 and a second in September 2023, reports the Mirror. The couple shared their happy news via social media on Sunday and shared snaps of the moment he got down on one knee to pop the question.
They also shared a romantic video of the venue and moment that the enchanting engagement took place. The footage was shared alongside a caption stating: “Here’s to us forever! I can’t believe I get to marry my best friend. Bring on the Burke-Randolph wedding. I can’t wait to call you my husband.”
Many fellow Strictly Come Dancing contestants rushed to the comments to share messages of congratulations with Alexandra – who starred on the show in 2017.
Stacey Dooley was also among those sending a message of joy, posting a string of red heart emojis. American singer Anastacia commented: “Congrats kids” alongside two red heart emojis. And RuPaul’s Drag Race star Michelle Visage typed: “CONGRATS BABIES!”
Fans were thrilled to see Alexandra looking so happy – and the fact that their children joined them for the huge milestone moment. One wrote: “oh my gosh!! I LOVE how happy you both are and those gorgeous babies.”
Meanwhile, a report has revealed that Darren proposed to Alexandra while they were victing a five star hotel in London – and took the stunned singer completely by surprise. The happy moment took place at the Rosewood hotel in the Holborn neighbourhood of the capital city, and the couple are now excitedly planning their big day.
A source revealed: “Alexandra had no idea this was coming and was on cloud nine. Darren had gone all out to plan the most special moment for her and it was perfect. They couldn’t be happier to start moving towards the next stage of their life together.”
Alex previously shared her wish to have a third child with her husband-to-be. She told Loose Women in July: “I returned to work two months after having both babies. I love to work.
“I want to make them proud. My mum did that with us. I’m so desperate for another baby. I would take more time off if I had a third. I don’t regret anything but after that first few months, they’re basically off the college. So I get why people want more time.”
