Foo Fighters are reportedly set to undertake an indefinite hiatus, after Dave Grohl admitted he cheated on his wife and fathered a secret child.

The frontman, 55, revealed in a statement earlier this month that he had welcomed a baby girl, ‘born outside my marriage’.

‘I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,’ he said at the time.

He’s now said to be ‘focusing on earning back the trust of his family’, with the band reportedly planning a hiatus.

This comes after they already sparked fury from fans for cancelling their first gig since the scandal at Soundside Music Festival in Connecticut, US, just days before they were due to play on Sunday.

A source has now claimed: ‘The band need time to be with their families and focus on regrouping.

‘It’s been a turbulent few years, with the loss of their best friend, drummer Taylor Hawkins, the death of Dave’s mum and now the birth of his new child.

‘He wants to be at home and focus on earning back the trust of his family.’

The insider added to The Sun: ‘Being on the road isn’t the best thing for any of them at the moment.

‘It feels like a hiatus is the best thing for them collectively.’

This comes after their festival gig, due to take place today, was pulled just days ago, with no explanation as to why.

Dave’s confession came just weeks after they wrapped up their US and UK tour, Everything or Nothing At All, and the My Hero hitmakers were set to make their post-tour stage return at the music festival.

Fans were devastated at the news they wouldn’t be taking to the stage, sharing their fury and confusion on social media after the comments on the post were swiftly turned off.

Dave has been married to TV producer Jordyn Blum, 48, since 2003, and they share three children: Violet Maye, 18, Harper Willow, 15, and Ophelia Saint, 10.

Jordyn is Dave’s second wife, as he was previously married to photographer Jennifer Leigh Youngblood from 1994 until 1997.

Dave later admitted to being unfaithful to her, which led to the demise of their relationship.
