Hurricane Helene made landfall as a Category 4 storm on Thursday night, Sept. 26, 2024, in Florida’s Big Bend region. At least 65 people are dead, many from fallen trees, as the storm makes its way across the U.S. Southeast. Millions are still without power as widespread destruction is left behind in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and more.
