The first elimination of Strictly Come Dancing 2024 has reportedly been leaked, sparking outrage among fans and casting intense scrutiny on the judges.

Even though the BBC One results show is set to air on Sunday night, it’s a well-known fact that the dance-off happens just hours after Saturday’s live performances.

Eager for spoilers, many Strictly enthusiasts stay up late on Saturday to find out who’s been ousted from the show. No contestants were removed in week one, which heightened the stakes this weekend as the stars and their partners competed to stay in the game.

Following the online leak of the results, social media platforms were abuzz with fan reactions. While we won’t disclose which couple was eliminated, the responses ranged from sheer surprise – “That’s gobsmacked me”, to utter disbelief – “OMG. How did that happen?” reports the Express.

One viewer lamented the injustice: “This is so unfair,” while another lambasted the judges: “Poor decision.” Others expressed their disappointment: “Disappointed for them, didn’t see that happening at all. Shocker of a result.”

Another added: “Wow, that’s a big shock. Wouldn’t have called that at all.” In brighter news, Week Two started on a high note with former Love Island contestant Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec delivering a captivating Viennese Waltz to Dorothy Moore’s Misty Blue, securing the top spot on the leaderboard.

The pair made Strictly history with the highest score ever for a Viennese Waltz in the show’s second week, earning an impressive 35 out of 40 points. Miranda star Sarah Hadland and her dance partner Vito Coppola delivered a fiery Paso Doble to Freed From Desire, racking up a solid 32 points, which put them just shy of the top spot on the leaderboard.

Meanwhile, at the bottom, Toyah Willcox and Neil Jones energised the crowd with a Jive set to Tina Turner’s classic ‘Nutbush City Limits’, scoring 18 points. Their performance received comments from Anton Du Beke who thought Toyah improved “1,000 times better” than last week, a sentiment Shirley Ballas agreed with.

Despite noting Toyah’s “flat footed” moments, Craig Revel Horwood couldn’t conceal his enthusiasm for her spirited display. Nonetheless, finding themselves at the very end of the leaderboard was Paul Merson.

Accompanied by Karen Hauer, the ex-footballer’s lively Salsa to Pitbull’s Fire merited only a 15-point tally. Craig compared it to a “comedy dance at a wedding”, while a speechless Shirley termed it “pure entertainment”.

Strictly Come Dancing will air this evening on BBC One from 7:15pm.
