Two American influencers have recently gone viral after their first visit to a Wetherspoons pub, where they found themselves perplexed by some traditional British dishes.

Amber Kacherian, an influencer from Tampa, Florida, known for her humorous online videos, has been sharing highlights from her UK trip with her friend Jared Gregersen.

During their visit, the duo documented their time at a local Wetherspoons. Unfamiliar with British cuisine, they made a small cultural slip by calling the pub a “restaurant.” Amber was intrigued by the “All Day Brunch,” while Jared opted for the steak and kidney pudding.

“We’re thinking probably the all-day brunch. We gotta try an authentic English brunch while we’re here with black pudding,” Amber said in their video, which has since racked up more than 35,000 likes. “We haven’t tried black pudding yet. We don’t have that in America, so we gotta give it a try.”

Once seated, the pair were immediately puzzled by some items on their plates. Amber asked, “Why are there beans with this? Do we eat beans for breakfast here?”

Meanwhile, Jared was unsure how to handle the gravy that came with his meal. Luckily, some friendly pub-goers were there to help. When their food arrived, confusion set in. Amber questioned the beans, and Jared was stumped by the gravy.

“The steak and kidney pudding. This gravy that came with it. Do we put the gravy on the pudding? We’re not too sure. English people help us. What do we do with the gravy?” Amber asked.

Later, Amber updated their followers, saying, “So there’s some very nice gentleman sitting right next to us that just informed us that the gravy does, in fact, go over the pie. We’re gonna pour the gravy on the pie.”

The pair also gave black pudding a try but remained uncertain about it. “I don’t know what I thought about the blood pudding, though. It was real weird,” Amber admitted.

Reflecting on their experience, Amber commented on how different British culture felt compared to the fast-paced life in the U.S. “In America, we are always in such a hurry. We’re always in such a rush… But here it just feels so nice and laid back that people can just come and relax and have a good time.”

TikTok users quickly weighed in on their visit. One commented: “Love how you call Wetherspoons a ‘restaurant’. It’s just a pub with food. But it’s cheap and cheerful, and so glad you liked it.”

Another remarked: “The beans are correct with a breakfast, the chips are definitely NOT.” Meanwhile, another pointed out: “If you want to really try black pudding, Wetherspoons is definitely not the one.”
