A Place in the Sun’s Danni Menzies was on the receiving end of a potential buyer’s frustration after he chided her for showing properties that exceeded his budget.

The hit Channel 4 programme aired another gripping instalment on Monday afternoon (September 30), featuring Danni aiding John and Carol in their quest for an idyllic holiday abode in Tenerife.

John and Carol, armed with a modest £120,000, were scouring for a roomy two-bedroom haven with stunning vistas and access to a swimming pool. They were, however, willing to compromise for a one-bedroom dwelling given their financial constraints.

Yet, the house hunt turned slightly bitter when Danni presented them with options that surpassed their budget by at least £20,000, prompting a swift rebuke from John.

He remarked: “That’s top end of my budget and you’ve done it twice now,” reports the Mirror.

In response to showcasing another pricey property, Danni attempted to defend her choices by highlighting that it included features they desired.

Despite his reservations, John went ahead with viewing the contemporary apartment but didn’t hide his disinterest, quickly dismissing it as “bland” and confessing that it lacked something.

Viewers tuning in from home also weighed in on the couple’s property pursuit, with one commenting: “£120k is not going to get much in Tenerife.”

One viewer cheekily suggested: “Danni should refuse to take them to next one unless she gets a 13% pay rise.” As the programme concluded, John and Carol were seen deciding to make an offer.

Expressing interest in apartment number five, John remarked: “I just think when you get off the plane, suitcases in the apartment, you’re on holiday.”

He then disclosed his initial bid. John’s first offer of £110,000 had to be increased to £125,000. With negotiations underway, the estate agents marketing the property confirmed they were in discussions.

By the show’s end, it was announced that John and Carol’s offer had been accepted.

A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 4pm on Channel 4.
