Detectives are hunting two men seen carrying a fuel can after a car was torched in Cumbernauld.

At around 9.45pm on Saturday, September 28, a car was deliberately set on fire on Hornbeam Road.

The blaze was extinguished and there were no reports of any injuries.

Detectives are keen to trace two men seen in the area at the time carrying a fuel can and are appealing for private CCTV and dashcam footage of the area.

Detective Constable David Williamson said: “Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone with information to contact us.

“We also ask anyone who may have private CCTV or dashcam footage of the area at the time to come forward.”

Anyone with information is being urged to contact police on 101 quoting incident 3777 of 28 September. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
