A Scandinavian Airlines flight to Scotland has made an emergency landing at Edinburgh Airport after alerting air trafficking control just minutes before arrival.

The SAS flight inbound to Edinburgh from Stockholm declared an emergency, squawking code 7700 enroute, just 15 minutes before landing and in the early stages of its descent into the Scottish capital.

Flight SK2545 landed at around 12.16pm, according to flight radar information. However, it’s currently unknown what the nature of the mid-air emergency was.

Aviation Source posted on X: “SAS flight SK2545, an Airbus A320-200 from Stockholm, has declared an emergency with squawk code 7700 whilst inbound to Edinburgh.

Flight SK2545 declared the emergency in the early stages of its descent this morning. Having declared an emergency whilst inbound to Scotland earlier this morning, SAS flight SK2545 has now landed at Edinburgh Airport.”
