As a beauty writer who keeps up with the latest trends, I am often on the hunt for products that deliver high quality results at affordable prices.

Fortunately, I have been lucky enough to try out a few products that I think are worth the hype. One of them is the Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Leave-In Treatment – and it’s currently on offer at Amazon for 20 percent less.

For those who are unaware, this bond repair treatment received attention earlier this year, with reviews claiming it was “better than” pricier brands such as Olaplex and K18. Usually retailing at £25.70 for 150ml, it has since been dropped to £20.45.

This is actually the cheapest you can bag the “miracle” treatment for, as Superdrug shoppers are getting it for £23.72, while Lookfantastic stocks it at £23.16. Meanwhile, Boots still has it for full-price, so I’d personally recommend the Amazon deal while you can.

The haircare ‘buzz word’ is ‘Bond Repair’, as this is ideal for transforming damaged, chemical-treated hair such as my own. Meanwhile, its concentrated formula is said to add shine, protect against heat damage and seal split ends, leaving hair “silky smooth” and “healthier.”

When I tried it out earlier this year, I found that a pea size amount melted into my chemically-treated hair, immediately detangling it. Once my hair dried, the lengths and ends instantly looked glossy, smoother and less frizzy.

The addition of citric acid also means this leave-in treatment has a pleasant smell, unlike quite a few other bonding products I have tried that smell of chemicals. I was so impressed with its non-greasy formula and results that it’s a staple on my hair wash days.

I’m not the only haircare fan who has been left impressed by the results, as Redken’s Acidic Bonding Concentrate has a 4.4 rating on Amazon based on over 9,000 reviews from users who have called it a “miracle” and are now saying “bye” to damaged hair.

One Amazon user praised: “Love this product! I’m a hair product junkie constantly searching for the best products for my damaged, over processed bleached blonde hair. And no matter what I try – Olaplex 9, K18, etc. nothing compares to this Redken leave in. Now everything gets used in its own way, and I rotate my products, but my hair always looks it’s best when the this is in the mix. Every time!”

Someone else gushed: “This is MUCH better than Olaplex. Saved my dry brittle hair. My hair started growing again with product and there was so much less breakage. I have dark brown hair and highlight blonde. Best product ever.”

While another added: “Miracle stuff! This is really great! I used to use Sebastian No.9 but doesn’t seem as good as it used to be (and totally unimpressed when I tried Olaplex) this must just suit my hair better? I have fine hair and it doesn’t weigh heavy or look greasy when dry and it smells divine!”

And another fan added: “Second time purchasing, great for detangling hair, great for dyed, damaged hair. Better substitute for Olaplex. Will be buying again.”

Some users have found it can feel heavier in their hair, so it’s worth figuring out if it’s right for your hair texture. The review read: “Love this product, only reason it’s not 5/5 stars is because it can leave hair a little heavy and it takes slightly longer to dry but worth it for softness and shine x.”

There are quite a few hair bonding treatments on the market right now. If you’re looking for an even more budget-friendly option, then you can purchase Revolution’s Hair Plex 3 Bond Restore Treatment for just £7.

Another even more affordable option is Pantene’s Molecular Bond Repair Deep Conditioning Treatment. Currently just £5 at Boots, this leave-in treatment has also been designed to regenerate hair bonds and seal split ends.
