Ruth Langsford was supported by her ITV co-stars as she returned to This Morning.
The Loose Women panellist, 64, is celebrating 25 years of the ITV daytime programme, and was welcomed on the This Morning sofa by hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard alongside her colleagues Jane Moore, Olivia Atwood and Coleen Nolan.
Dressed in glamorous silver gowns, the ITV stars recalled their first time on Loose Women, with Ruth having appeared from the first episodes more than two decades ago.
Around the same time, she was also a guest presenter on This Morning, which she hosted with Eamonn Holmes before being replaced by Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond in 2020.
And she’s now returned to the show, months after announcing her split from GB News presenter Eamonn.
Ruth reminisced about her early days on the programme, joking around with Ben, Cat and her Loose Women co-stars as she returned to the blue sofa.
Fans were delighted to see her back on the show, with @kellymcc5 writing: ‘They should have Ruth and Rylan back on the show.’
Ruth and Rylan Clark were guest presenters on This Morning in 2022 for one week, sharing their excitement at the time and saying: ‘Let the fun begin!’
The star’s This Morning return comes after a difficult few months, following her split from Eamonn after 14 years of marriage.
Last year, it was claimed that Ruth had been left ‘torn’ between the offer of a This Morning return and not wanting to upset Eamonn.
It had been rumoured she’d been offered a chance to return after Phillip Schofield’s exit from ITV and This Morning, when he admitted his ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair with a much younger employee.
Eamonn has made his feelings about Holly Willoughby and Schofield heard perfectly loud and clear in the past, with several scathing rants, so Ruth was reportedly said to be caught in the middle.
A source alleged to Bella magazine, according to the Daily Express: ‘While obviously, Eamonn has burnt his bridges with ITV, Ruth still works for them and wants to continue.
‘She’s proud of her work at Loose Women but at the same time, doesn’t want to be used as damage control.
‘She is also loyal to her husband, of course, and wouldn’t want to upset Eamonn over it.
‘But she’s also not saying no – she is just surprised to be courted by them after everything that has happened.’
Eamonn and Ruth announced their split in May this year, with reports stating work commitments had resulted in them drifting in ‘different directions’.
They’ve since said very little about the split, though Eamonn, 64, has been pictured on a romantic holiday with his new 42-year-old girlfriend, while there were reports Ruth had hired a ‘fierce’ divorce lawyer.
