LOAN star Jay Henderson reckons Scott Brown can achieve his Premier League dream with Ayr.
The United boss turned down interest from St Johnstone to sign an extended deal at Somerset last week.
But Henderson believes Broony can still manage in the top flight by leading the Honest Men to promotion.
The winger, who’s stepped down from Ross County for the season, said: “I’m loving working with the gaffer. It’s a compliment to him and us that someone from a higher league was looking at him.
“I can speak for all the lads when I say I’m glad he and Steven (Whittaker) have stayed. It’s been great working under the manager since I came – he was a big reason for me coming here in the summer.
“He can definitely be a Premier League manager and it would be great if that was with us. You can tell by the player he was and the demands he sets that he’s just a winner.
“So I do think he will manage in the Premier League whether it be here or getting a crack somewhere else in future.”
Henderson struck a controversial second half winner against Morton on Saturday as unbeaten Ayr went three points clear at the top.
Furious ‘Ton players claimed he double hit the spot kick and surrounded whistler Colin Steven in the aftermath.
But Hendo shrugged: “It’s up to the referee to make the decisions and we get on with it. We’re just trying to win games and it’s a valuable three points.
“We’ve been starting games slowly in recent weeks and had drawn three in a row so it’s great to get back to winning ways.
“It’s a bit of a relief to turn the performance into the three points as that hasn’t been there of late. Now we’ve got a great game to look forward to at Falkirk next week.
“I watched them against Celtic and they were really good so we’ll go there and need to be at our best.”
