After blowing away Slovan Bratislava on matchday one, Celtic face an altogether different animal this week.
Last season’s Champions League runners up Borussia Dortmund represent several steps up in class as Brendan Rodgers and his team’s Champions League credentials will be severely put to the test at Signal Iduna Park in front of the famous Yellow Wall. The Hoops warmed up perfectly by slapping St Johnstone 6-0 in Perth, showing Rodgers the Champions League mentality he demanded of his stars a few days early.
Dortmund won a topsy turvy Ruhr derby against Bochum 4-2 but have looked unconvincing under Nuri Sahin in recent weeks. The Germany international played under Rodgers at Liverpool, although the pair didn’t exactly see eye to eye with Sahin accusing the Celtic boss os “wrecking” his anfield loan spell. They’ll now be in opposite dugouts looking to continue their winning ways after victories against Slovan and Club Brugge respectively.
