ROANOKE, W.Va (WDTV) – A 63-year-old Harrison County man has been arrested after sexually assaulting two young boys in Lewis County, according to West Virginia State Police.

Steven Brown, of Mount Clare, would take two young boys to Stonewall Jackson Lake and sexually assault them, court documents say.

The assaults began in 2018 when one of the boys was 12 and continued until May of this year, police said.

One of the victims said Brown owned firearms and told him if he told anyone, “bad things would go on,” which led him to fear for his life, court documents say.

The victims disclosed the assaults during an interview with the Harrison County Child Advocacy Center on Friday, September 27th.

Brown is charged with five counts of first-degree sexual abuse, five counts of sexual abuse by a parent or guardian, one count of second-degree sexual assault, one count of distributing obscene matter to a minor and one count of use of obscene matter to seduce a minor.

Brown is currently in the North Central Regional Jail with bond set at $650,000 in Lewis County and at $600,000 in Harrison County. He is charged with the same counts in Harrison County, according to the West Virginia Division of Corrections & Rehabilitation.
