On Tuesday’s edition of Channel 4’s A Place in the Sun, couple Kate and Wayne were quick to halt proceedings when their property viewing took a turn for the worse, with fans echoing their sentiments about the home’s disheartening interior.
With the picturesque Pinar de Campoverde as their desired location and an £85k budget, the two were accompanied by presenter Lee Juggurnauth, who guided them through an array of homes in the quaint Spanish village.
The property hunt had initially looked promising; the first two properties presented by Lee seemed to charm Kate and Wayne. However, the visit to the third abode was a different story altogether.
Although the four-bedroom house promised “amples of character” from the outside, concealed behind an opaque white gate, the reality inside was far less inviting. Confronted with a cluttered space, Kate and Wayne felt constrained and made the decision not to venture further into the property.
Wayne expressed his discomfort succinctly: “It didn’t feel right”, reports the Mirror.
Viewers tuning in at home were quick to voice their agreement. Flocking to social media, one lamented about the propertys aesthetic: “This is hideous or is it just all the junk?” While another succinctly put it: “It’s even worse inside.”
Comments continued to pour in with criticisms like: “Clutter, clutter, everywhere,” and a blunt appraisal: “Jeez. How horrible is this?”
Critique wasn’t confined to the property’s interior; its exterior also caught viewers’ attention, with a candid remark stating: “That’s f*****g awful from outside.”
Despite their open-minded approach, after dismissing the possibility of fully exploring the third house, the couple listened as Lee acknowledged he had taken a “risk” with this choice. Unfortunately, even with high hopes, the fourth property failed to make the cut as a potential home for Kate and Wayne.
Despite the initial setbacks, Wayne and Kate were charmed by the third property they visited, which ticked all their boxes. By the conclusion of the programme, the pair had decided to make an offer on a stunning three-bedroom, two-bathroom house that fell within their £80k budget.
Although the location was a bit further than their preferred area, John remarked: “It’s the square, it’s got that village feel.”
He also mentioned: “We’re not far from Camper Verde anyway so we can still get out there.”
Towards the end of the episode, Lee announced that Wayne and Kate’s offer had been accepted, signalling the start of their new chapter in Spain.
