CONCORD, N.C. (WBTV) – Many of our neighbors in the Charlotte Metro and up to the mountains need your help to make an impact.

Relief efforts in Concord started Monday in the parking lot of the Walmart on Thunder Road.

Volunteers were busy since since 8 a.m. Monday filing up truck loads of various supplies including water, diapers, pet food and clothes to send to various areas in Western North Carolina that have been heavily impacted by Helene.

Operation Airdrop has partnered with Miracle Movers to make it all happen.

The Miracle Movers offered its trucks and equipment to transport the donations from the Walmart parking lot in Concord to the Concord Regional Airport, from there the donations were packed into planes to be sent out.

Operation Airdrop coordinates with volunteer pilots to deliver life-saving supplies, including food, water, medical necessities, and personal hygiene items to isolated areas.

On Monday, WBTV spoke to Adam Tennant, the General Manager of Miracle Movers who got emotional describing the sense of community emerging while dealing with the aftermath of Helene.

“There’s been people crying and hugging me and stuff. It’s just been incredible because everybody knows someone up there. We’re the hands of Jesus Christ so we’re just loving our neighbors the best that we know how,” Tennant explained.

“Charlotte specifically has shown up in force and I’m so grateful for them. Concord Regional has been incredible, and of great assistance. So much for everybody who has chipped in. If someone needs a little hope in the world right now cause I know if you look on the news what we’ve seen in North Carolina has been terrible come here,” shared Shaun Carroll, a volunteer with Operation Airdrop.

If you would like to help send supplies, Volunteers will be accepting donations in the Walmart parking lot located at 5825 Thunder Rd NW, Concord, NC 28027 from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. for the rest of the week.
