Ranvir Singh has expressed her feelings following the conclusion of the BBC’s investigation into Giovanni Pernice.
She has experience of Pernice’s teaching as the two were paired together on the 2020 series. Now, in rare comments, the 47-year-old has said she is glad that Amanda Abbington received an apology.
While appearing on Good Morning Britain, she was asked by Susanna Reid what she thought of the conclusion and Singh made her opinion crystal clear.
‘I was pleased yesterday to see that the BBC investigation had concluded – it had been going on for some time – and that it ended with an apology to Amanda. I was pleased to see that,’ she shared.
‘I think that it can only be a good thing that these extra welfare measures have now been put in place on the back of this investigation because ultimately, Strictly is a show that everyone should be having a good time on.

She summarised: ‘It’s entertaining, it’s joyful and everybody should be having a good time whether they work on the show, and the audience at home should feel comfortable that it’s what everyone is experiencing.’
Professional dancer Pernice’s behaviour towards actress Abbington, 50, – and his dance partner in 2023 – was investigated by the BBC, and a verdict was reached on Monday September 30.
The broadcaster issued an apology to Abbington and upheld some of her complaints against Pernice, 33, but cleared him of the most serious allegations.
‘We want to apologise to Amanda Abbington and to thank her for coming forward and taking part. We know this would not have been an easy thing to do,’ the BBC said in a statement.
There were no findings relating to physical aggression, but complaints of verbal bullying and harassment were upheld, the PA news agency understands.
The review into Abbington’s complaints about her Strictly professional dance partner Pernice was launched earlier this year, and Pernice, who is not part of this year’s Strictly professional dancing line-up and has since joined an Italian dance show, previously rejected ‘any claim of threatening or abusive behaviour’.
Following the results, Pernice shared a video on Instagram. Part of his message included: ‘I have to be honest with all of you because without your love, your messages, your support, your constant support, I don’t know if I would be able to even make this message right now.
‘I’m happy because today I can carry on to do what I was born to do, and I love to do which is entertain all of you.’
Abbington also released her own statement following the verdict. ‘It’s not just a vindication for me, it’s a vindication for the other people who have contacted me since I made my complaint to express concerns about their own experiences on Strictly Come Dancing,’ she said.
It is now reported that she is considering legal action against the broadcaster.
The investigation was prompted by Abbington, which led to Giovanni stepping down from the show after several years.
Six other partners were contacted including Laura Whitmore, who said she was asked to speak about ‘inappropriate behaviour’ that she experienced. Singh was rumoured to have also been questioned.
