Callander is set for more than a fortnight of works to improve a stretch of footway along the A84 through the town from next week.
Getting underway on Monday, BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be carrying out essential footway improvement works, planned to commence on Main Street – between Murdiston Avenue and Drummond Place – on Monday, October 7.
The works are expected to last for 15 days between the hours of 9.30am and 3pm and are expected to be complete on the afternoon of Friday, October 25, depending on the weather.
Due to the nature of the works and to protect both roadworkers and road users, temporary traffic lights and footway closures will be put in place, with diversions in place for pedestrians.
Access through the worksite for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “These essential footway improvement works will upgrade the existing footways, greatly improving the quality and safety for pedestrians and road users. Dropped kerbs and tactile paving will also be introduced to help people with disabilities get around.
