Drivers are asked to take note of diversions and allow extra time for travel ahead of a series of road closures in Monklands.

Ironwork repairs by Scottish Water will see Cambridge Crescent in Airdrie close all day on October 7.

The closure will run from 90m east of Lincoln Path to 115m east of the road.

There won’t be any alternative routes available, but “vehicular and pedestrian access will be permitted where practical during the closure”.

Bruce Street in Plains, from Annieshill View to Livingston Drive, will shut for five days from October 14.

This is to allow for work by Scottish Power and diverted routes for drivers will be Annieshill View, Ballochnie Drive and Livingston Drive.

Carriageway resurfacing will result in a five-day closure at the B804 Coltswood Road, Coatbridge, from October 14 between the hours of 8am and 6pm each day.

This will apply between Greenhill Industrial Estate and West George Street, with diversions including the B804 Main Street, Craignethan Drive, the B803 Sunnyside Road, Gartsherrie Road and Townhead Road.

Finally, Gartsherrie Road in Coatbridge will shut, from Gartgill Road to the John G Russell access, between 10pm on November 20 and 6am the following morning to “facilitate a railway bridge examination”.

Alternative routes for motorists will include Blair Road, the A89 Bank Street, the B753 Dundyvan Road, the A725 Coatbank Street, the A89 South Circular Road and the B803 Sunnyside Road.
