Dumfries Camera Club are holding an exhibition of photography at The Usual Place café on the town’s Academy Street.

The exhibition started yesterday and continues until Friday, October 11.

Club members have produced a variety of pictures for the exhibition, which will be for sale as part of a club fundraising campaign.

There is also a film show of the photography that club members have produced over the past eight or nine years.

The show will be running quietly in the background while customers enjoy coffee and chat.

Dumfries Camera Club has been on the go for 77 years.

With many experienced amateur photographers, there’s lots of scope for new members to gain knowledge from them.

Guests are also invited to visit the club to tell members about their photography work.

Visiting judges also discuss the work of members, which in turn helps them develop their skills.

The club is open for all levels of experience, and everyone is welcome.

Tomorrow night, October 2, Lynda Haney of Wigan 10 Camera Club will be the guest speaker. She said: “My photographic interests are wide and varied but my inspiration comes, mostly, from the beauty and diversity of the natural world.

“However I do like the challenge of photographing many diverse subjects.

“In general, my main photographic interest is wildlife, but I also enjoy using creative lenses to capture the natural world in a more abstract
way.”

Dumfries Camera Club meet at Gracefield Arts Centre on Wednesdays between 7.30pm and 9.30pm.
