Two men have been jailed following the discovery of a cannabis farm worth an estimated £1.7million in Dundee.
Police officers executed search warrants in Lorne Street and Ash Street in the Tayside city on January 8, 2024, where a whopping 3,000 cannabis plants were found.
Indrit Saraci, 27, and Adiol Hila, 37, appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court on Tuesday, October 1, for sentencing after pleading guilty to drug offences.
Saraci was jailed for three years and nine months and Hila was caged for three years and four months.
Detective Constable Luke Doogan said: “Drugs can have a devastating impact on people and this demonstrates our determination to get these harmful substances out of our communities and hold those involved in their supply accountable.
“It also highlights our continued commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious and Organised Crime Strategy.
“Support from members of the public is absolutely vital to our work and we would continue to urge people to look out for the usual signs of cannabis cultivations and report any concerns to us.
“We will continue to use every tool and tactic at our disposal to deter this activity and protect our communities from the harm illegal drugs can cause.”
