Lorraine Kelly is a beloved TV presenter thanks to her career spanning for more than 40 years. Known for presenting Good Morning Britain and GMTV, she has her own show where she interviews famous faces, and discusses news, fashion, food and much more.

When Lorraine Kelly isn’t fronting her own show, she has been busy conducting life-saving campaigns and charity commitments to ensure vital money is raised for key causes. She was proudly appointed a CBE on account of her charity work and journalism – and there is one person who has been by her side through it all – her husband Steve.

The pair have been married since 1992 after they first met while working on the TV-am show. While Lorraine is an outgoing celebrity and keeps up appearances, Steve is more private and quiet.

Here is a peak inside Lorraine Kelly’s marriage with Steve Smith after three decades together.

The happy couple met when Steve was working as a cameraman on TV-am, and Lorraine knew he was “the one” from the moment she first saw him.

Speaking to Woman and Home, Lorraine once said: “He walked into the TV-am office 28 years ago where I was working as a reporter and he was part of the crew, and I thought, ‘That’ll do, I’m having that.'”

The duo were friends for a year before they began dating. Things heated up when they were out filming for work in Glencoe, Scotland. Lorraine previously said: “We were staying in a tiny hotel in the middle of nowhere and I got him incredibly drunk on tequila before making my move.

“The way I remember it is that I leapt on him like a ninja and he had absolutely no defence!”

The pair got married on September 5, 1992 at Mains Castle in Dundee. Two years after getting married, the couple welcomed their daughter Rosie. Steve is understood to be more private than his celebrity wife, with Lorraine commenting Steve understands the “funny hours and the silliness” of her celeb lifestyle.

Yet she admitted he has zero desire to be part of it, which is key to their successful marriage.

Lorraine added: “His idea of hell on earth would be at something like a premiere. It would be like having needles stuck in his eyes. That does help. It must be very odd being with someone who enjoys walking down a red carpet.”

Earlier this year, 29-year-old Rosie announced she was expecting her first child and Lorraine and Steve were set to become grandparents.

The daughter of the TV star shared: “We could not be more excited – you’re already so loved little one.” Another photo showed Rosie’s 12-week sonogram scan where she said her unborn baby was now ‘the size of a fig’.

Rosie gave birth to Billie on August 29. Lorraine shared her excitement in the comments as she gushed over the wonderful family news on social media: “I have been BURSTING to share this wonderful news with you!

“Baby Billie is an angel and I’m so proud of @rosiekellysmith and @stevewhite94 who will be the best parents.

“I’m delighted to be Granny Smith and can’t wait to go on adventures.”

The pair lived together in Dundee before relocating to Buckinghamshire in 2017 after their daughter Rosie left the family home. The pair relocated due to Lorraine’s busy work commitments in London which has previously seen the star “travel up and down all the time”.

Lorraine and Steve currently live in a riverside property, which is thought to be worth around £2 million. According to her snaps on social media, the rural home boasts an impressive kitchen, multiple bedrooms, welcoming living room with a log burner and a sunlit conservatory.

Lorraine and Steve’s garden features its very own guest house for visiting friends and relatives.
