Kieran Tierney took a seat right behind the Arsenal bench on Tuesday night – but kept things incognito with a comprehensive disguise to battle the cold.
The Scotland defender is battling back from injury and is expected to return to action this month but wasn’t quite ready for a place in the squad against Paris Saint-Germain. He hasn’t made Steve Clarke’s squad for the October internationals either – with the Gunners’ trip to Bournemouth on October 19 a possible return date.
He did however have a front row seat for his side’s 2-0 Champions League win over PSG, and footage shared on X showed him taking his seat right behind the bench. Tierney is famed down south for his Scott Brown-esque refusal to wrap up warm even when it’s Baltic but his usual bullishness in the temperatures were swapped for a full jacket, hood and mask.
It’s possible that was partially to keep himself under the radar until he’s ready for a full return to the pitch. He’d have been a happy man at full-time however as Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka gave Mikel Arteta’s team a comfortable 2-0 win.
