North Lanarkshire Council’s Arts Development team to host music exhibition in 2025 and need your help.
The Arts Development team have put out a call for content for an upcoming exhibition on the music scene in North Lanarkshire between 1960s to 1990s.
The team are looking for any associated objects from this period, including instruments, photographs, stories (people willing to share oral histories), t-shirts, CDs and so on.
The exhibition is currently being planned and will focus on local bands and musicians as well as gig venues, recording studios and any famous bands who may have visited North Lanarkshire.
Rose Shackleton, Assistant Curator at North Lanarkshire Council, said: “We’re excited to explore the history of the music scene in North Lanarkshire and get to know the amazing musicians, venues, recording studios and culture from the area.
“Did you see Fran and Anna around Coatbridge? Do you remember the sound of the Bellshill Beat?
“Did you collect local band t-shirts? Were you in a band yourself? We want to know!”
If you have anything to share, want to get involved or would like more information on the project, please email Rosie Shackleton on [email protected]
