A PR expert has suggested that Prince Harry’s recent string of solo engagements indicates that “there is something going on”. The Duke of Sussex, 40, was seen at the WellChild awards in London on Monday, which marked his eighth consecutive public outing without Meghan Markle by his side.

The former royal’s individual commitments have also taken him to New York, where he participated in several events, including a panel at the Clinton Global Initiative and made an appearance on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Mark Borkowski, a PR strategist who has kept a close eye on Harry and Meghan’s activities, told the Daily Telegraph that the couple’s professional paths have been diverging for “a while” and hinted that Harry might be “going back to basics”.

He said: “There has been a separation [of their work] for a while. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to think there’s something going on. She has been doing the jam thing, the Martha Stewart play. He seems to be going back to basics.”

Mark, who noted that the “star power” the pair anticipated having together “didn’t work” as they had hoped, continued: “They had to change the narrative,” reports the Scottish Daily Express.

“They need a venture that deflects from the failures. The charity aspect impresses upon everybody that he [Harry] does have value beyond the controversial stuff.

“It has the effect of separating them from the bad press and the failed content ideas. The punters still have time for Harry.”

In September, an insider revealed to the Express that Harry’s solo tours are a strategic move to leverage his existing fanbase, as he is adored by royal fans globally.

The source indicated it became “very quickly” apparent that the Duke of Sussex still commands a “considerable fanbase”, potentially “more so than Meghan maybe”, with their Royal connection “keeping them afloat”.

The insider also noted: “There’s been a conscious effort to focus on that love for Harry so in the long-term that adoration can seep through the both of them.”

Prince Harry has recently embarked on his next solo journey to Lesotho and South Africa, where he was pictured with Princess Senate Mohato Seeiso, the eldest offspring of King Letsie III of Lesotho, according to the Mirror.
